About

Hi! I'm Pierre Smith.

Software Engineer

I build reliable full-stack systems with a strong backend focus. I'm especially motivated by building software that helps real people, whether that's tools for music and local communities or scalable systems for businesses.

About Me

I'm Pierre, a software engineering student who enjoys building practical, reliable full-stack applications. I started coding to create useful tools on my own time. After developing an interest in the Arizona local music scene and community events, I decided I wanted to build more software that could support and help those communities.

I enjoy full-stack development, but I'm especially drawn to backend engineering, specifically authentication, data modeling, and API design, because it requires clear system thinking and careful handling of edge cases.

Recently, I've built projects like a multilingual PDF generation API (RedCard API), a marketplace listing organizer (Marketplace Cart), and a musician networking platform (AZ Musician Finder). Across all of them, my focus is the same: maintainable architecture, strong data structure design, and features people actually use. I like working closely with real users and shaping software around real workflows.

I'm currently looking for a software engineering internship where I can contribute to real production systems, learn from experienced engineers, and continue leveling up as a developer. I also enjoy taking on freelance projects, especially when they involve building practical tools for small businesses, creators, or local communities.
